Publisher’s description: South 85 Journal is an online literary journal founded in 2012 and run by the Converse College Low-Residency MFA Program. We publish two issues a year, featuring fiction, nonfiction, poetry, reviews, and art by new, emerging, and well-established writers and artists. While we consider all quality work that we receive, our main focus is on pieces that demonstrate a strong voice and/or a sense of place.
NewPages has said we offer "just enough selections in each genre to keep a reader interested without being overwhelmed. There’s no padding here, no skimming of pieces, no skipping anything over. Each piece begs to be fully consumed."
