🧪 Inspiration Prompt: The Chemistry of Words
From causation and correlation to chaos and confusion, what makes people dig in their heels in the modern age? What sparks outrage, blind allegiance, or misunderstanding?
Chemicals.
They’re everywhere—in nature, in our bodies, in the food we eat. A banana, for example, contains glucose, fructose, sucrose, potassium, riboflavin, aspartic acid, thiamine, and its own ripening agent: ethene gas. And that’s just scratching the surface.
Dihydrogen monoxide. Sodium chloride.
Do these terms sound ominous? Would you sign a petition to ban them—only to learn they’re just water and salt?
Scientific language can feel alienating. But beneath the jargon lies something deeply human: reactions, relationships, transformation. Everything is chemical. Every emotion, every story, every piece of art is a reaction waiting to happen.
