Publisher's description: River Heron Review was established in 2018 to support the arts through the sharing of poetry in its free-access, online journal to make public the transformative power of poetic expression.

RHR publishes two attractive online issues a year plus two contest issue and one supplemental issue, Poems, For Now, addressing socio-political issues, while adding new voices and welcoming returning writers to its pages. Poets can be assured that all work sent to RHR is honored with the utmost respect, read anonymously by editors, and considered equally.

A variety of voices and styles is celebrated with each new issue appealing to a broad audience. Poets from our journal are regularly nominated for the Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net and are frequently featured in our monthly newsletter as well as included in our social media posts. The editors are committed to widening the audience of the poet through all of its established channels thereby amplifying the poetic voice to new audiences. Currently, our journal is read throughout the United States as well as Canada, Australia, Norway, Sweden, Great Britain, and many other international locations.

We hope to contribute to the expansion of a community of poets, to establish a creative outlet that does not discriminate by age, race, physical ability, or sexual orientation in order to offer voice to all, and to represent poetry in its many forms, styles, perspectives, and intentions.
