We opened our doors at this location in 2007, hosting a bookstore, inviting bar, and two event spaces. The Robeson Room, named after 20th-century renaissance man Paul Robeson, the larger of the two, seats about 80 people, and is where open mics, author events, and higher-attendance happenings take place. The smaller events space Paul’s Den seats about 40 people. Paul’s Den hosts our monthly book club and private gatherings.

Bookstore open 10-6 Tuesday-Saturday. We carry more than 38,000 books, and The Second Story Cafe serves excellent home cooked breakfasts and lunches. We host monthly and special events throughout the year, including a writing group that meets the first Monday of each month.
Peach Street Books is a place for people who enjoy books and reading. Our building is a historic renovation of a 1930s Pure Oil Station and attached garage of later vintage. PSB includes gently used and new books in its inventory for purchase. Used books are marked at half the cover price or less. We also serve bagels and Eastern Shore Coastal Roasting Company coffee. Reading is both personal and community-creating, and we thank you for allowing us to be part of the process!
The Blue Whale sells books, original prints, and antiquarian maps. We have about 20,000 used books, and hundreds of antiquarian/rare books. We also have 1,000 original prints, especially chromolithographs from the 1800s. Our maps are 18th and 19th century, with the occasional early Virginia map from the early or mid-1600s. The owner also performs appraisals on a regular basis.
Serving Albemarle and Central Virginia since 1924, New Dominion Bookshop is the oldest independent bookseller in Virginia. Located in Historic Downtown Charlottesville, we are a general trade bookshop, with many selections in fiction, nonfiction, and children's books, and with a unique selection of architecture and landscape gardening books. At New Dominion Bookshop, you will find a pleasant, old-fashioned atmosphere and a friendly, helpful staff who are interested in books and readers.

Royal Oak Bookshop opened in 1975 and has become a favorite of booklovers in the mid-Altantic area. An invitation to browse is generated by thousands of used, out of print, rare, sale, and new books in stock. Virginiana, books for children, and Civil War history are featured, but there is a large selection in ALL categories.
