Booked Up began in 1971 in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. and is now located in Archer City, Texas, carrying between 150,000 and 200,000 fine and scholarly titles.
BookWoman began 43 years ago in an upstairs shop on Guadalupe. From there we moved into Susan Post's house at the time, and then we became BookWoman and moved to 6th Street. Then we moved to 12th and Lamar, and since 2008 we're located at 5501 North Lamar, where we host regular events.

Deep Vellum Books is Dallas' independent bookstore, cafe, and cultural center with literary events, plus live music, film, art & more, seven days a week.
Interabang Books, a new full-service, independent bookstore, will open in July 2017. The 5,000 square foot store, at the southeast corner of Preston Road and Royal Lane, will carry 12,000+ titles in a variety of categories, with a focus on fiction, children’s books, and creative nonfiction. The store will feature a flexible event space with seating for up to 100 people for book signings and a children’s stage for weekly story times and other programs.

The Twig Book Shop began its evolution in 1972. Currently located at the former Pearl Brewery on the Museum Reach of the Riverwalk, The Twig provides newly released books for children and adults as well as award-winning classics. The space at Pearl has become a venue for local and national poets and authors. The Twig makes books available for book clubs, schools, and conferences. The Texana collection makes The Twig a destination for history lovers near and far.
