Baldwin & Co. is an independent bookstore and coffee shop located in New Orleans, LA. Inside, books on mystery, business, history, art, travel, children’s literature, and more fill the floor to ceiling shelves.

We have operated a book store in the beautiful historic French Quarter since 1967 and have been at the current location on Decatur Street since 1979. Our shop contains fifty to sixty thousand second-hand books on two stories and our books cover a wide array of topics. We also carry new titles on New Orleans, Louisiana and the South. We place particular emphasis on histories, architecture, literature, music and cooking. Additionally, we have a large collection of second hand classical CDs and LPs.

The Garden District Book Shop resides inside the historic property called the Rink at the corner of Washington Ave and Prytania St in New Orleans’ beautiful Garden District. We carry a large collection of regional titles: new and used; design, art and gardening books; fiction and non-fiction; children’s; and signed first editions and limited editions by many regionally and nationally acclaimed authors. The Rink was originally built in 1884 as the Crescent City Skating Rink (roller skating) to lure passing tourists during the World’s Cotton Centennial Exposition. Since then the building has housed a livery stable, mortuary, grocery store, and gas station.
