Jerboa Lit 500: Third Contest Open Now!
Registration Deadline: October 3, 2025
The third Jerboa Lit kicks off on Friday, October 3! At 10 pm Chicago time, we’ll choose a random prompt consisting of three parts: a genre, a short phrase, and an item. Writers will then have until 11:59 pm on Sunday, October 5, to submit a 500-word story fulfilling the prompt. Results will be announced on Friday, January 9, with the first-place winner taking home $1,000 – and prize money paid out through fifth place. (There is a $25 registration fee, but if that’s prohibitive, please ask us about a Community Pass!) Sign-ups are open until 9:59 pm on October 3: www.jerboalit.com/registration.
