Call for Manuscripts: The Wishing Jewel Prize for Poetic Innovation

The Wishing Jewel Prize awards $1000 and publication for an innovative, book-length manuscript that challenges expectations of what a book of poems can be. Named for an essay in Anne Carson’s Plainwater, we seek work that questions the boundaries of genre, form, or mode while engaging the rich possibilities of lyrical expression. All manuscripts are considered for publication, even those that don’t aim to “push the envelope,” so this is both a contest for the most innovative manuscript and an open-reading period.
