The Missouri Review Issue 49.1 (Spring 2026) is themed “The Cost of Living” and opens with a foreword by Speer Morgan who traces inflation from America’s founding to our contemporary anxieties, reflecting on the roles of scarcity, ambition, literature, and the emotional costs of survival.
