Hosted by The Ekphrastic Review and editor Lorette C. Luzajic, The Ekphrastic Academy offers a unique opportunity for writers to deepen both their creative practice and their engagement with visual art. Through online workshops, courses, and webinars, participants explore writer’s craft, art history, the lives of artists, and the rich tradition of ekphrastic writing—poetry and fiction inspired by paintings, photography, sculpture, and other visual media.

Designed for writers at all experience levels, the Academy emphasizes community, creativity, and meaningful discussion. Sessions are conducted online via Zoom and encourage participants to engage at whatever level feels comfortable, whether actively sharing work and ideas or simply listening and learning. The combination of literary craft instruction and close attention to visual art creates an inspiring environment for generating new work and discovering fresh creative approaches.
