Write a 500-word short story based on a random prompt (genre, item, phrase) chosen on Friday, June 27. Stories are due 48 hours later, at 11:59 pm CDT on Sunday, June 29. $2,200 in prizes, with $1,000 going to first place. Each short story will also receive editorial feedback, and authors retain all rights to their work (meaning they can submit their story elsewhere after the contest if they so choose).
