BookPeople, Texas’ largest independent bookstore, has been a staple in Austin’s Community Bound by Books since 1970. From Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451, “Book People” are a group of people dedicated to preserving books in a world where the written word is forbidden, and books are burned. BookPeople has been voted the Best Bookstore in Austin for over 20 years and was named Publisher’s Weekly’s bookstore of the year in 2005.
