Publisher’s description: Quarterly West is a nationally distributed journal run by graduate students in the University of Utah’s creative writing program. The magazine has been published continuously since 1976, and has featured work by writers such as Allen Ginsberg, Sam Shepard, Carolyn Forche, Rick Moody, George Saunders, and Marilyn Hacker. Poems and stories from the magazine have been reprinted in numerous Pushcart Prize and Best American anthologies. We strive to showcase not only the finest work from established authors, but also the most exciting and innovative new talent.
In addition to regularly featuring poetry, short fiction, and nonfiction, Quarterly West runs a biennial novella competition. Entries for the 2006-07 competition will be accepted through January 31, 2007. Meanwhile, on the other side of the fiction continuum, we are always on the lookout for high quality short-shorts.
We invite you to come see what Quarterly West has to offer, and to be a part of our next thirty years of literary discovery.
