Publisher’s Description: For 33 years, Phoebe has prided itself on supporting up-and-coming writers, whose style, form, voice, and subject matter demonstrate a vigorous appeal to the senses, intellect, and emotions of our readers. We choose our writers because we believe their work succeeds at its goals, whether its goals are to uphold or challenge literary tradition. Phoebe welcomes both experimental and conventional prose and poetry, and we are always especially pleased to discover new voices. Unpublished writers are encouraged to submit their work.

Phoebe sponsors an annual Winter Fiction Contest and the Greg Grummer Poetry Award. Winners receive $1000 and publication. All entrants receive a complimentary issue of Phoebe. Past poetry judges have included Robert Creeley, Charles Wright, and Claudia Keelan. Past fiction judges have included Richard Ford, Tom Franklin, and Sandra Scofield. Entries due Dec. 1. Please visit our website for details.
