Publisher’s Description: Established in 1987 as Poetpourri, The Comstock Review, is published under the independent auspices of The Comstock Writers’ Group, Inc. Each issue contains 100+ pages of all styles of original poetry and authors’ notes. Metaphor and fresh, vivid imagery are our hallmarks. Our editors, all volunteers drawn from Central New York, accept poetry strictly on the basis of quality, not reputation. We feature well-known to newly discovered poets and are proud that many writers, first presented in our magazine, have gone on to publish books and win awards. We appreciate understandable, well-crafted lyric or narrative poetry in free or formal verse.

General submissions accepted from January 1 – March 15th yearly. We administer the annual Muriel Craft Bailey Memorial contest, between April 1st to postmark July 1st yearly and publish both winners and selected finalists. We sponsor the Jessie Bryce Niles chapbook competition every other year. Both contests feature prizes worth over $1,000
