Publisher’s description: Blood Orange Review sets the stage for emerging and established literary voices with a clean and vibrant design, stunning artwork, and an established readership. Since 2006, we have published fiction, poetry, and nonfiction in an online format dedicated to cultivating a broad audience for new writing. With original recordings, translations, and interviews, Blood Orange Review offers a fresh slice of contemporary literature. Don’t overlook the bios, where writers give often humorous insight into what motivates them.
Our editorial process is selective; we reject about 95% of all submissions. We’re thrilled when we publish someone for the first time, and we favor work that shows concern for language and is artfully constructed. We show respect for writers by responding within eight weeks to all submissions, and we continue to support our contributors by nominating their work for the Pushcart Prize, Best New Poets, and other awards and anthologies.
