Program description: The MFA program at Minnesota State University Moorhead offers students the opportunity for highly individualized work with experienced professors who are publishing actively in their genres. Students are encouraged to take workshops outside their primary genre in order to enhance their command of craft. The program is designed to meet the needs of both full-time and part-time students; all graduate workshops are offered during late afternoon or evening hours. In-state tuition is offered to everyone, no matter where they come from; in fact, MSUM is one of the least expensive programs in the country. A publishing certificate is available to those students interested in pursuing that career, and many MFA students complete internships with New Rivers Press, a working literary press based on campus.
