Publisher’s description: Litmus Press is the publishing program of Ether Sea Projects, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit literature and arts organization dedicated to supporting innovative, cross-genre writing, with an emphasis on poetry, and international works in translation.
Recent titles include Brenda Iijima’s Animate, Inanimate Aims (2007), Isabelle Garron’s Face Before Against (translated by Sarah Riggs, 2008), and Stacy Szymaszek’s Hyperglossia is forthcoming in 2009. Our book covers feature new artwork by contemporary artists such as Carrie Moyer (Face Before Against), Laurel Sparks (Hyperglossia) and Rosemarie Fiore (From Dame Quickly).
Charles Bernstein writes of our most recent publication, From Dame Quickly that “[Jennifer] Scappettone’s richly textured, multifoliate poetry is an intellectual and aesthetic extravaganza that defies genre in its commitment to structural process and social materiality.” —Charles Bernstein
