Publisher’s description: Since 1966, we have published 93 issues of Hanging Loose magazine and 160 books, mostly poetry. We published the first books by Sherman Alexie, Kimiko Hahn, D. Nurkse, Joanna Fuhrman, and Maggie Nelson, among others, plus titles by Harvey Shapiro, Ha Jin, Elizabeth Swados, Jayne Cortez, Paul Violi, Charles North, Tony Towle, Joan Larkin, and many more. The emphasis is on innovative, energetic work, with a stress on new writers (including the famous high school section) and neglected older writers.
